About The Excellence Cluster
The Excellence Cluster funding supports projects to deliver improvements in services for children and young people in Southend. The Cluster works to extend opportunity, some schools in large conurbations have always succeeded, yet others close by have suffered. Our Excellence Cluster programme is intended to bring success to every school in Southend rather than concentrate it in a few locations. The investment that our Excellence Cluster programme brings to Southend will therefore help to extend opportunity. Rather than reinforcing current inequalities, it will enhance quality.
The Excellence Cluster...
- Works with and support the Local Authority Children's Plan
- Works towards achieving our 4 core beliefs
- Is planned, managed and delivered locally by Cluster schools
- Is determined to devolve resources and decisions to partners
- Is innovative and has a "Can Do Attitude"
- Is creative, different and risk taking
- Is responsive an quick to act
- Aims to include all Southend schools
- Provides capacity for additional projects
- Maximises online learning opportunities
